myLot Discussions| Atari 2600 vs ColecoVision vs Intellivision.... | | For those of us old enough to remember these gaming systems which one did you own? And which one did you like the best?I owned a Atari 2600, we had to Pre-Order Pacman for it through Sears where we purchased the 2600.I owned a ColecoVision, better sound and graphics and the optional Atari 2600 game adapter was a plus! I just wish it had the support that the 2600 had.I never owned a Intellivision but I had a friend who did. The controllers were terrible, and the games were ok. I liked a few of them, but the graphics were downright terrible.

| | | What game system did you grow up with? | | When I was a kid I had a Sega Master System II. The one with Alex Kidd built into it. I absolutely loved it and actually still have it (somewhere!).
It brings back memories when I think about it. I actually can finish the game in about 40 minutes. I have never played Alex Kidd 2 but would like to.
My mum always gets excited whenever she has the chance to play Space Invaders becuase she used to play it down at the local snack bar on the old school table.. things.
So did you play video games when you were young or were they not invented yet? What was the first system you ever played?I think the first ever game system was the Intellivision. I believe it came out in the very early 80s??? I have played one of those and it is sooo basic but very cool!
| | The 80's - Your Faves of This Decade | | Most of us remember the 80's - hair bands, pop rock, bubble gum rock, The Breakfast Club, and all things totally cool! If you enjoyed the 80's, share it here. What was your favorite thing about the 80's?I will name a few of my favorite 80's stuff:The Care Bears
Madonna
The movies "Space Camp"
Motley Crue and other hair bands...
Guys with long hair that wore their makeup well
Atariand many other things.....I think the music of the 80's decade was the best!(Yes, I am getting old...I was just sitting here reflecting things of my past as today is my Birthday. I just turned 30 and started thinking about all the different things that have come and gone in my lifetime...that is when the 80's crossed my mind...lol)
| | do you remember??? | | Do u remember the old days playing super mario brothers? I miss those days. | |
| | What is the best video game system? I think the Nintendo Wii is the best! | |
What do you consider the best game system? I really like the Nintendo Wii! Not only ca you play Wii games, but you can play Nes, Snes, Sega Genesis, Neo Geo, Colecovision, Tubro Graphics 16, N64, AND tons of aracade games! I just don't see how you can lose playing the Wii! Overall I don't think it has much competition. The only thing I like about other systems like Playstaion is they have the Silent Hill series, and X Box has Doom 3. That is probably the only games I would buy those systems for. What do you think? Do you think Nintendo is the best?
| | The Video Game Insanity | | I have to confess I don’t understand the video game fanaticism I see going on these days. People are camping out for days, even weeks in some places, all for the honor of shelling out $600 for a game station. Now, as I understand it, most of the people standing in line simply turn around and sell the things on eBay for somewhere around $6,000. Is this the only reason? Is that really worth sleeping on concrete for six days in a row? Am I missing something here? Maybe it’s just that I am not a games guy. Sure, I have spent many hours playing games of all kinds on my life. I have played board games. I have had bursts where playing certain games ruled my life. I went through a period during my high school years when I wanted to play “Risk” all the time and played for hours with friends. I even had a brief moment of playing roll-playing games although I never got obsessed enough to then spend hours talking about my character in public like some people I knew back then. The thing it, games have just never held much power over me for the long-term. In fact, these days, I prefer to avoid them all-together.Not to sound too much like an old-fogey, but I can say I was... | |
